When someone asks what we are grateful for, most of us can recite a list of events, relationships, and possessions we genuinely appreciate. But sometimes, the abundance in our lives may leave us a bit jaded and can actually cause us to lose sight of the most important blessing we have. In the first chapter of Colossians, Paul describes the motivation for believers to be “joyously giving thanks”—namely that the Father “has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light” (vv. 11-12). In other words, God has not only provided for our needs now, but also throughout eternity.
In this wonderful sermon, A Joyous Thanksgiving, Dr. Stanley reminds us of all the great promises God has given us and encourages us to express our gratefulness to the Father with exuberant praise and excitement. It’s a sermon you won’t want to miss!
