Description
Timing is everything. It’s important in battle, sports, negotiating, witnessing, and even in our daily walk with the Lord. One of the primary reasons we get away from God's will is because we don't know His timing. We become impatient, moving ahead and making decisions apart from God’s will and purpose.
In this sermon, Dr. Stanley shares how we can wait patiently, quietly, trustingly, expectantly, steadfastly, and courageously. He also gives several reasons why it’s wise for us to wait on the Lord. When we do, we:
- Receive God's clear direction
- Keep in step with God's timing
- Are prepared for His answer
- Have our faith in Him strengthened
- Allow Him to sift our motives
God always has a clear reason for telling us to wait, one that is always for our good. When we refuse to act according to His timing, we face consequences—we get out of God's will, delay God's planned blessing, bring ourselves pain and suffering, cause others heartache and suffering, and harm ourselves personally and financially.
Waiting is absolutely essential in living the Christian life, walking in obedience to God, and receiving His best blessings. We must be willing to wait until we hear Him tell us exactly what to do and how to do it.
Will you trust in His timing or yours?
