Would most answers deal with the physical events that took place when Jesus Christ was crucified at the cross on Calvary? Dr. Stanley states that there's more to it than what meets the eye. In this sermon, he helps us understand three important things that happened at the cross:
1. Jesus Christ willingly received the judgment of all mankind for all ages in one dramatic act.2. Satan was defeated and the resurrection is God's proclamation of that defeat.3. Salvation was purchased through the blood of Christ by God the Father.
This only becomes applicable and redemptive when we tell God that we believe Jesus Christ died for us and we receive Him as our personal Savior. It is the acceptance of God’s Son and the blood of Christ as full payment for our sins that will get us into heaven.
This sermon is part of the series "The Cross, Your Hope."
