Description

As Peter contemplates what is about to happen in the Roman Empire, he realizes that Christian persecution is close at hand. He tells believers that they should respond by avoiding anger and hostility. Instead, they should choose to imitate God’s love by fervently loving one another. “Love will cover a multitude of sins” (1 Peter 4: 8).

In “Living In The Last Days,” Dr. Stanley tells us that we are to love others by making allowances for their mistakes, their sins toward us, and the things they say and do against us. After all, how can we hold anything against someone who has wronged us when God always forgives us, no matter what we've done? When we choose to love someone, we are equipped and motivated to reach out and help them. Committed service is how we become good stewards of the grace of God.

This message is part of the series, Living Triumphantly: A Study of First Peter, and covers 1 Peter 4:7-11.
