How can we love someone when that person is acting in an unloving fashion? Peter says, "Since you've been obedient to the truth you have purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren" (1 Peter 1:22).
In this message, Dr. Stanley explains that if we're going to be able to love through tough times, we must first purify our hearts by being obedient to the truth of God’s Word. Only when the heart is pure are we able to love anybody. If we can learn to love God in tough times, we will be enriched to love others. God loves every single one of us perfectly because He loves us out of a pure heart.
This message is part of the series, Living Triumphantly: A Study of First Peter, and covers 1 Peter 1:22-25.
