Description
Are you trusting in Jesus or your good works? Dr. Stanley continues his examination of Paul’s letter to the Galatians in “The Key to Liberty,” as he guides us through Galatians 2:18-21.
Paul grew up as a devout Jew and tried to obey every aspect of the Mosaic law. But he soon realized his futility, never being able to do for himself what Christ did for all of us on the cross. Paul freed himself from bondage by turning to Jesus in faith, through what he called “being crucified with Christ.”
Dr. Stanley tells us that any time man creates laws that must be obeyed in order to find God’s favor, he attempts to add to what Christ already did—therefore diminishing God. Paul said in Galatians 2:21, “If righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly.” When we accept Jesus Christ by faith alone, we invite Him to live His life in and through us.
